by Dave Caruso
Length: 3:35s
Comments: From Dave's album "Cardboard Vegas Roundabout."  The Gibraltar Bay Alpacas are the real stars in this music video, which pays homage to The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album cover, while using the MTV Pop-Up Video format. The Gibraltar Bay alpacas are charming and entertaining as they're featured, many by name, against a soundtrack that's reminiscent of the 1966-era Beach Boys sound. Special thanks to Debbie Regal for the photos and thanks to GBA for letting us shoot with "the girls."

"Someday"  12/02/15
Length: 2:04s
Comments: "Someday," written & played by Dave Caruso.  When I was in the 11th grade, I was floored by Billy Joel's "Summer, Highland Falls," a beautiful and challenging piano piece. Using just a turntable, my trusty Grinnell console piano and lots of repeated listens, I learned to play it by ear. But that accomplishment only made me hungry to play more songs like it. I had only been studying piano for about six years and writing songs for about three. So I used that inspiration to give myself a songwriting assignment: to come up with a new song which would be so challenging that even after I composed it, I would have to learn how to play it. The finished song was built on broken chords, cross-hand parts and some chord changes that I thought were interesting.  Over the years I've continued to make changes to the music and this is its latest incarnation.

Wayne Cablevision and Producer's Color

Co-Directors: Debby Malchie, Dave Caruso
Length: 4:21s
Comments: About two years after the release of the CARUSO CD 'In the Face,' I wanted to put together a video retrospective of CARUSO's work as a band, to be assembled from home movies, road video, live & studio production footage, and scrapbooks.  At that time, a piano student of mine named Debby Malchie was taking video production classes, which allowed her access to some video equipment.  I chose the source material and did the storyboard, and we produced it together.
